First of all big, big thanks to our lovely hosts Ina & Msuli for our wonderful stay in Kimurimuri. Kimurimuri is a little paradise with great attention to detail (e.g. the beautiful arrangement of the apartments, the great garden with different palms and very nice flowers, the clean pool, …). The kitchen is well-equipped and has everything you need for cooking. It looks even better than in the photos. It’s the perfect place for a relaxing and quiet holiday. Pongwe is by far not so touristic than other places in Zanzibar. The friendly staff cleaned the apartment when needed (including new good smelling towels & bed sheets) and the entrances were guarded day and night. Ina & Msuli are two warmhearted guys who are always there for you. They supported us in shopping, planning trips (even beyond the normal touristic places) and finding good restaurants (there are some good restaurants in walking distance; our recommendation: Seasons Lodge). And if you’re interested they also give you a very, very interesting inside view about life in Zanzibar. Ina even went with us to Stonetown and showed us interesting places including the Darajani market where she supported us in buying spices. Our personal highlight was walking on the beach when there was low tide. We were so impressed by the different shades of blue. Sometimes we were just lying on the white sand in knee deep, warm water about 500m away from the beach. In most cases we were completely alone (September). It was a wonderful time for us and we didn’t want to leave!

We absolutely loved our stay in Kimurimuri, Ina and Msuli's Zanzibarian oasis. Everything was clean and exactly as described in the photo's. Check in was effortless, Ina was there to give us a little tour and help us set up the wifi. They had cleaning staff come in every couple of days during the week we where there to replenish toilettries and towels as well and empty the bins in the kitchen. We had everything we needed in order to cook up some meals in the apartment yet there are several lodges and restaurants within walking distance that we're seemingly always open.Msuli was very helpful in picking up fruits and veggies for us as we had a hard time finding some in Stonetown before our check in. The shuttle service that we set up through Ina with the their trusted driver Suba was very affordable and he even stopped to wait on us while we picked up some groceries on our way from Stonetown to Pongwe.We used the same service to do some excursions (which Msuli set up for us) and to get from the Apartment to the airport at the end of our stay. The place was relaxing and the security guards or cleaning staff are always present yet very discreet, should you need anything. Ina was super quick to respond to all my messages and we had some great chats with her throughout our stay. I honestly loved my stay here. We had the place all to ourselves, which was an added bonus and the beach is right outside your door. The sand bar provides swimming that is wonderful for children as the water is shallow for a very long stretch. The apartment grounds are a wonderful place for children to play with a parent's peace of mind that they cannot venture too far as the entire complex is fenced in and gated with 24hr security. It was just the relaxation we were craving. Ina and Msuli provide a safe and enchanting home base from which to explore the island. I highly recommend them as hosts.

We had a wonderful relaxing stay at Ina’s and Msuli’s beautiful property with a lot of space and nature at hand. For my family this was one of the best place to chill on Zanzibar, far away from crowds and loud music. Great hosts. Very helpful and gave us some really good insider tips. Totally recommend this piece of heaven!

Staying at Ina & Msuli’s place was like a dream. Our girls age 7 and 10 were in the pool all day and we had lots of time to chill and enjoy the beautiful and peaceful surroundings, the well equipped apartment as well as the good food at nearby restaurants. Excellent and considerate hosts. Hugely recommended.

We want to thank the hosts Ina and Msuli for a wonderful vacation. The accomodation was very good and nice. The cleaning was meticulously done. If you wanted to go shop or some sightseeing it was arranged. Msuli was always at hand and very helpful and nice. The beach was very quiet and calm with few tourists, which we prefer. Good restaurants at walking distance. We had a fantastic vacation here and strongly recommend Kimurimuri.

Fantastic location to have a vacation for a family or a couple. We had a great time with the combination of a fabulous beach and a swimming pool, great local spots very nearby and absolutely wonderful hospitality by the hosts and their staff. Ina and Msuli coordinated a simple but great local fishing experience for our children and recommended local places to visit that added to our enjoyable experience. The property is well appointed and had all the amenities one could want for a family vacation. We look forward to visiting this property again.

The house was spectacular to say the least. There was absolutely no regrets about booking this place. If you see privacy and the best bang for your buck, it’s the best deal. It’s not for party people, nor for people seeking crowd or night life. You are isolated, and for me, that was the charm of it.

Words can't describe how wonderful this experience was. The apartments are amazing and well worth the money. There is everything you need to cook nice meals with fresh and seafood if you whish. And affordable places to eat out if you prefer Serviced is really what you get both by the host and all the friendly help. There is always someone ready to help you even though your privacy is respected. The village is lovely and although it would be considered poor by European standards, villagers are welcoming, always with an heartwarming smile and eager to interact. My two teenage boys loved playing soccer with the local boys and were shown the local school and escorted through the village for an inside tour and ended up playing in the local soccer field with local teenage boys. We gave some chocolates to local kids in the beach and in retribution one of them climbbed a coconut tree to present is with the fresh fruit and water. Lovely . The walks are amazing ️. From desert beachs, to coastal woods teaming with birds and bush babies. You can get lost and love it! Ina and Msuli were also incredibly helpful in advising us on buying local fresh produce, booking local trips and activities and getting transfers. The only thing I didn't like about Pongwe was how short the days were. 12 hours of daylight were not enough to enjoy the outdoors. Luckily the apartments are comfortable and we could entertain ourselves through the long nights. We stayed for 6 nights but could stay for a month!! See you soon Ina, Msuli, Msana (sorry for not spelling your name correctly) and all the Masai princes who made our stay memorable!!

We had a great time at Ina & Msuli's place. The communication was super easy and quick. The place looks exactly like it does on the pictures. It was very clean and modern and had everything we needed to feel at home. We would highly recommend this wonderful apartment.

Kimurimuri Lodge is for those who want to get away from the highly touristy and expensive resorts and have a secluded, quiet stay. The benefit of this property, aside from the great value when compared with the big resorts, was the attention and assistance paid by the hosts. Ina and Msuli helped us with local transportation to the market as well as access to a private driver to take us to and from the airport and a trip to the northern beaches. The pool and view of the ocean is lovely and the house well equipped for cooking . There are a couple of good bar/restaurants in easy walking distance. Overall a charming, tidy, beautiful property with gracious and caring hosts.

We had a lovely time with Ina and Msuli - fantastic hosts. Location is great - very private and so nicely presented. Ina and Msuli were really very helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. Taking us to the local shops and arranging taxi's as we needed. Even lending us their car for 2 of the days so we did not have to hire our own. Would definitely go back if we went to Zanzibar again.

My friends and I had a wonderful stay here. Ina and Msuli were such caring hosts. The house is beautiful and the location truly felt like paradise. Highly recommend this place!

Ina and Msuli's place a wonderful! We enjoyed it so much. Everything was pefect with organization and any requests we asked for wasn't a problem which we really appreciated on the island. The bay where the house is beautiful with no turists. Beautiful sunrise on the island, fresh fish if we wanted, restauranst nearby, driver available if we needed. I definitely want to come back.
